10 weeks *Throwing* Wednesday Aug - Oct ‘25

BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE

This course primarily focuses on developing fundamental skills for working with clay on the potter's wheel.

You will learn essential skills in throwing basic forms such as cylinders and bowls. You will also learn how to transform these forms into mugs and cups by pulling handles. We will show how to apply textures and surface decorations using various tools, found objects and decorating slips, if you’re interested.

For those with advanced skills, we are happy to offer guidance on more challenging projects and techniques.

The course finishes with a dedicated glazing session. The glazed pieces will be fired within a week or a month, depending on our firing schedule.

Please note that the cost of materials and firing is not included in the course fee. If you'd like to keep any of your pieces, a firing fee will apply based on weight (55p per 100g of clay). Additional charges may apply for larger pieces that require more kiln space—this includes items taller than 25cm or flat pieces over 20cm in diameter.

This course will take place once a week on Wednesday evenings, for a total of 10 weeks between 6th August and 8th October ‘25. Each session will be held from 6:30PM to 9:00 PM.
